What the day includes
- Elephants watched from a distance, across open ground, for most of the day
- A viewing point with a set standing distance, where you can stay as long as you want to
- Long stretches of simply watching, with time to ask questions and no reason to hurry
- Whatever the day gives you: grazing, dust thrown over a back, a group moving across the field
How the day runs
Morning
Arrive while the mist is still sitting on the field, and start with the elephants at a distance rather than up close.
Late morning
Stay with it as the light changes and the group moves about the field, with time to ask whatever you want to ask.
Midday
A break out of the sun, with the field still in view.
Afternoon
Back to the viewing point, where the rest of the day is standing, sitting and looking.
Late afternoon
A last look across the field from the tree line before you leave.
Pace
Little walking, and most of it flat, across open ground that is uneven in places. The day asks for patience more than fitness.

Availability
We do not hold dates, seats or rooms on this website, and nothing here is confirmed while you are reading it. After you send a request we check what is possible for your dates with the people who would run the day, and we write back with what we find, including when the answer is no.
If you need to cancel
If your trip is arranged and you then need to cancel, these are the terms we work to: cancel 30 days or more before the first day and you are refunded in full; cancel between 15 and 29 days before and you are refunded at least half. The full terms are written into the quote you receive, so you read them before you agree to anything. No payment is taken on this website, so there is nothing to pay here and nothing to refund until a deposit has been arranged with our team directly.
Who you will be with
The people you spend the day with, the driver, the guide, the cook whose kitchen you are in, are chosen by us for that day. We plan each day with them directly, and we tell you who you will be with before you agree to anything. One person on our team stays your point of contact from the first message to the end of the trip. If something on the day is not what we described, tell us. The arrangement is ours to put right, not yours.
